I think the answer as to cause must lie with Laurens
he's the only one who came here like he did and suffers the same thing
so something happened to him

What do you mean the only one who came here like he did? Have you checked the DUPRR people? Even if they don't have it, can we rule out it just being exposure? Laurens has been here longer than many passengers while they've only been here a month.

Aside from that the likely answer seems to me to be exposure to the shadow. If that isn't a thing that assimilates people into some sort of hivemind I will eat the hat that I don't own here.

I haven't studied them yet -- you'll remember that it took your consent to do so and I do not love the idea of exposing the extent of what I can do to them, but there could be a way

I don't love the idea of them knowing what you can do, either. To be honest I think I'm about to the point where I'd advocate you hiding across the room and digging in to get us some actual answers, about this and everything else.

I'd feel differently if it were a passenger, or someone who weren't potentially a massive threat/withholding crucial information. But we can interrogate them forever and even if we get anything could we actually trust it enough for it to be useful? Their privacy just isn't the moral hill I'm willing to die on.

She sounds delightful. Casimir seems nice enough. If he's being evasive he does a better job faking ignorance than the rest, and seeming to be open about the fact that there are things he's not willing to tell me yet.

I guess now that it's basically confirmed they ought to know. Hopefully it won't be too much of an uproar. Let me know if there's any way I can help, since I've at least had more time to process it than most.

No. I'm not totally sure whose he is, but he's been recovering in Medical so I went through them.

I'd like all of them on our side, ideally. But I still haven't come up with a way around the impasse that is a total lack of trust on both sides.
