That definitely sucks. Being mad at you for something you haven't done yet because you did the thing he wanted now instead. I'm sure you had a good reason for lying about it, and if he thought he was going to die because of you he probably just hadn't gotten to the part yet where you did your best to save him. Time travel is the worst.
Unfortunately you can't put the cat back in the bag, so maybe just give him some space for a bit and hope he comes around? This place is generally pretty good at getting people to overlook grudges.

Yeah. I wish I had some great advice about this, but I think probably the only things you can do are apologize and try to understand. I mean if he didn't actually come from dying he can't really know you won't save him at the last second but I don't know how receptive to that argument he'd be.

Yeah, this is definitely the worst part of it. The lying to people and the putting them in danger. To be honest I've kind of ended up just not really having close friends I don't work with, at home.
